Dry brushing can be done daily. Because it is stimulating we recommend dry brushing in the morning.
Start at your feet and gently brush skin in an upward motion toward the heart. Be sure to include your buttocks, arms and back.
Avoid brushing the delicate skin on the face, neck and chest areas with a Dry body Brush. To brush these areas you need a soft brush like our Bodecare Jute Dry Face brush which is designed specially for dry face brushing.
After brushing, bathe as usual, then use an all-natural moisturizer to replenish your skin.
Keep in a cool, dry place, away from the shower or bath.
This routine can be done before every shower or just three or four times a week — whatever your schedule allows and your needs call for.

What are the benefits of dry body brushing?
Dry body brushing is a natural health practice, which involves brushing over the dry skin dry and usually followed with a bath or shower. It is believed to help detoxify by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymph flow/drainage. It also stimulates your nervous system, which can make you feel invigorated afterward.

Do not dry brush on freshly shaved or waxed skin as this may be too irritating. Wait for a day or two to start dry brushing again, especially if you have a firm dry body brush.
How long does it take to dry brush your body? Dry body brushing is one of the simplest and most economical ways to improve your skin. We find the best time to dry body brush is right before you shower. Always use your brush on dry skin.
Can dry brushing help you get rid of cellulite?
Bodecare owner, Rebecca has been studying and treating cellulite for over 14 years. Read on for her thoughts on cellulite and dry body brushing.
"Very simply put, Cellulite is an accumulation of fat, fluid, toxins & waste all trapped by a net of hardened connective tissues under the skin. The fat in this area is different to fat in other areas of the body, which is why when we try to lose weight, we lose it first from our non-cellulite areas such as our face, bust/chest, back, lower arms etc. Where the place we really want to lose it is our tummy, hips and thighs."
According to Rebecca - "dry skin brushing has so many benefits for cellulite, such as exfoliation which stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen & elastin to form in the skin. Excites the blood flow to the skin which helps to nourish the skin with nutrients in the blood from the foods we eat. It manually manipulates the lymphatic flow when brushing in the correct directions for the lymph which will help move those toxins and waste through the system for elimination by the body. The firm bristle brushes will manipulate the fat in the area effectively softening and breaking the fat cells up so they can be utilized for energy when needed by the body.
Consistency is the most important part. Cellulite takes a long time to build up in the skin. It can be up to seven years of build up under the surface before any signs of cellulite actually show up on the skin itself. So, just know that the cellulite can be improved, but it will take time. Lifestyle changes and loving your body with some TLC will definitely give you the results you are after."
Are the bristles or handles sprayed with chemicals? No. Bodecare brush bristles are treated with boiling water for 30 minutes and left to dry, this is repeated 4 times. Timber is heat treated or kiln dried (not fumigated with chemicals).
