- Apply one coat of the Dual Top / Base Coat, two coats of your colored lacquer, and then finish off your mani pedi with another coat of the Dual. Deco Miami lacquers are pretty pigmented, so if you tend to paint your nails with thick coats, one coat might just be enough. Be sure to let the lacquer dry between coats.

Is Deco Miami Nail polish safe to use? Nail Polish is the only product in our collection, which is not totally natural. While water based formulas are the safest - we have found they do not currently deliver the performance we have come to expect from a laquer. While not completely chemical free, Deco Miami's 8 free nail lacquer does not contain any of the following carcinogenic chemicals - NO DBP, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, parabens, xylene, ethyl tosylamide or TPHP. As a safety precaution, we do not recommend using any nail polish during pregnancy.
Is Retinyl Palmitate Safe? Deco Miami has revised their formula for their Summer 2017 collection to include coconut oil, biotin and Vitamin A (retinyl palmitate) to promote healthy nail growth. Colors with new formula include: Coco, Kitten's Paw, Venetian Isle and Namaste By The Pool. Retinyl palmitate is a form of vitamin A widely used in skincare products, including sunscreen. Although Retinyl Palmitate has many proven benefits, evidence suggests that it reacts to UV light and may cause free radical damage and can make skin more sensitive to the sun. Environmental Working Group’s Cosmetic Database rates it as a potential hazard and recommends consumer avoid Suncreen and other skin and lip products containing Vitamin A, retinyl palmitate, retinol and their derivatives. Based on the evidence available, we believe caution is justified when using sunscreen and skincare products containing Vitamin A and care must be taken to avoid sun when using retinol serums. While we believe nail polish to be a safe application, as a precaution we recommend avoiding all nail polish during pregnancy.
