How to use: Get rubbing from head to toe. Balm of Ages™ is a multi-purpose balm. Apply all over your body. Rub a small amount into your hands until it melts then apply to your skin, hair and feet. You can literally put it everywhere, just not your eyeballs, that’s never a good idea.
Can I use Black Chicken Remedies Balm of Ages on my face? Yes. Balm of ages can be used anywhere. It is incredibly light, hydrating and long lasting. It can be used anywhere on your face - take care not to get it in eyes. If you have sensitive skin - we recommend doing a patch test on a section of your face before applying it more liberally. Customers love using it on lips and as a spot treatment for acne.
Can I use Balm of Ages as a lip balm? Yes. It is extremely effective on sore, chapped and cracked lips, hands and feet.
Can Balm of Ages be used as a face mask? Yes. This multi-tasking balms is good for just about anything - including a hydrating face mask. Start with a warm face cloth then massage a 1/2 teaspoon onto your face (avoiding eye area). Leave on for 20 minutes then wipe away with a warm face cloth. Your skin will feel plump and hydrated. Mask once a week.
What is the benefit of using Black Chicken Remedies Balm of Ages on my hair? The deeply nourishing formula can revive hair and soothe an irritated scalp. To use as a hair mask: apply a small amount and massage gently into scalp and hair. Wash out with shampoo. If any residue remains - rewash.
Is Black Chicken Remedies Balm of Ages suitable as a beard balm? Yes. Skin beneath beards can become itchy and sensitive. Use as needed to relieve itching and dryness.
What is the shelf life of Balm of Ages? Use within 12 months of opening. Avoid getting water in the product as that will compromise the ingredients.

Hurraw Balm is certified organic by the Montana Department of Agriculture. Although our Sun Balm contains 76.6% organic ingredients, any product containing Zinc Oxide can not be 'certified' as made with organic ingredients under the NOP agricultural organic guidelines.
Are Hurraw Lip Balms Cruelty Free? Yes. Hurraw! Balm is a Certified Cruelty Free company. No animal products (ie: beeswax) are included in our product. They are also CCIC approved. The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics provides the leaping bunny logo which assures our cruelty free standards (no animals are used/harmed/tested on in any stage of the manufacture of our product, including our suppliers).

Do the tubes Leach BPA into the balm? No. Hurraw is required to use FDA approved plastic for cosmetics: a clean, non leaching plastic #5.
Are the tubes made with Post Consumer Recyled Material? Hurraw always uses recycled pellets in their plastic tubes when available (up to 50%), Tubes are still recyclable #5. Currently, they are unable to source enough recycled PCR (post-consumer recycled material) pellet to make all of their tubes. There goal is to reduce our plastic use by 90% in the next five years as PCR material becomes easily attainable for all manufacturers that rely on plastics and that alternative plastic material and technology continues to be developed.
What is the shelf life? Laboratory stability tests place expiration at 3 years. However, we recommend using your tube of Hurraw! Balm within a year of opening for best results.
Do Hurraw Lip Balms contain Hexane? Hurraw Balms do not use any hexane or other petroleum based solvent derived essential oils.
Is zinc oxide safe? Yes. Sun Balm contains non-nano Zinc Oxide. Zinc Oxide is the only all natural, broad spectrum (blocks both UVA and UVB) sun screen available today. Zinc Oxide is a mineral. It protects your lips by sitting on top of them and thus, provides a physical barrier against UVA and UVB rays. It actually deflects the rays away from the skin to prevent any harm. For adequate protection it must be applied often.
