How to use:
Shake well before use. Pour 1 teaspoon of the oil in the mouth and gently swish and swirl for up to 20 minutes daily. Spit the oil into the trash can. Do not swallow. When finished rinse well with warm water and brush teeth as normal. Oil pulling is best done first thing in the morning - before eating or drinking anything.
Does oil pulling take the place of brushing or is brushing still recommended? Oil pulling is to be used in combination with proper brushing. We recommend oil pulling first thing in the morning - before eating or drinking. Follow by brushing as normal or try a biodegradable toothbrush.
What is the difference between this and pure coconut oil? Coconut oil has natural anti-bacterial properties which make it an excellent choice for oil pulling. Brilliant black oil pulling has a coconut oil base with added activated charcoal - a superb addition for its stain removing properties.
Why do I need to spit the oil into the trash again and not my sink? The oil may thicken and clog pipes. Do not swallow the oil - it contains bacteria and toxins that were in your mouth.
Does oil pulling help with gingivitis? The lauric acid in coconut oil is believed to help reduce bacterial growth in your mouth, strengthen your teeth and reduce inflammation in your gums.
Is the mint flavor really strong? No. The flavor is very mild.
Terra & Co. compostable Dental Floss is a brilliant alternative to traditional floss. Made from biodegradable (and sustainable) bamboo fiber and coated with activated charcoal. The strong, flexible fibers effectively remove buildup and whiten between teeth.
Infused with peppermint and spearmint essential oils, the anti-bacterial formula promotes healthy teeth and gums.
The plastic free packaging is recyclable and compostable.
How to use:
Break off approximately 18 inches of floss and wind it around your two pointer fingers (or middle fingers)
Slide the floss gently up and down between your teeth
Curve the floss in a “C” shape around each tooth, and be sure to go below your gumline. Be gentle and don’t force it, though, because that can damage your gums and cause bleeding. You may experience some bleeding in the gums.
Don't forget to go between each tooth, especially back teeth
What is the point of using biodegradable oral care products? It is estimated that about 1 billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown out in the US each year, creating about 50 million pounds of plastic waste. Bamboo toothbrushes and dental floss are made from sustainable materials and when you are finished you can compost and recycle them. Bamboo toothbrush handles take about 6 months to breakdown whereas plastic is believed to take hundreds of years.
Is this floss completely plastic free? Yes. The floss inside the box is in a compostable cornstarch bag.
Is this floss compostable or recyclable? Yes. The cardboard box can be recycled after removing the small metal floss cutter. The floss and cornstarch bag can both be added to your compost.
Where is this floss made? All Terra & Co. products are made in the USA.
How much floss is in each package? Each pack has 32 yards (96 feet) of floss.
