Do I need a moisturizer and a serum? The short answer is, maybe. It really depends on your unique skin care needs. For some, a basic moisturizer might be enough. But, if you have visible signs of aging (uneven skin tone, fine lines, dry or rough patches) you will likely benefit from a little extra TLC from a more advanced skincare routine. Choose a serum with ingredients that target your specific skincare concerns and apply after cleansing (before other products).

What is a Aloha Youth Serum? Aloha Youth Serum is a lightweight, silky cream designed to deliver concentrated nutrition deep into your skin. Because serums are generally lighter than your traditional moisturizer, they can penetrate your skin deeper to better target visible signs of aging than a moisturizer alone.

How do I apply a serum? Serums are best applied on damp, freshly washed skin. Use a small amount (about the size of a pea) and pat gently into skin. Let it absorb fully before applying any other products. Use sparingly - a little goes a long way.

Does it contain preservatives? Is the preservative safe? Yes. Aloha Youth Serum contains water and other ingredients that necessitate a safe, non-toxic preservative to prevent the growth of mold, bacteria, yeast, or fungi. The advantage of a water based serum is active ingredients absorb quickly and more deeply than thicker oil based serums. Honua Skincare uses safe, environmentally friendly sources for our preservatives, including sodium anisate, lactobaccilus, sodium levulinate and several others, all of which have been “green beauty” approved. If you wish to avoid all preservatives, consider a face oil or oil based face serum.

What does the CO2 beside some ingredients mean? Supercritical CO2 extraction is a more sophisticated and purer method of extracting oils from plants. Most of the essential oils we know and love are obtained through steam distillation. This involves heating the plants. Supercritical CO2 extraction uses carbon dioxide gas which is nontoxic, odorless, and easily removed from the extracted oil at the end of the process. Because lower temperatures are used during the process – heat sensitive plant components are preserved. The result is products that are more potent, more stable and have a longer shelf life.

Do I need to use it daily? Yes. To achieve full benefits from your skincare - you need to use them according to instructions. You may start seeing noticeable improvements in your skin tone and texture after about 3 - 4 weeks of regular use.
