Will water-free products feel too oily on my skin?

Water is included in many skin care products to dilute the oils so that when you apply them they spread thinly and your skin is left with a very thin film of oil on the skin. According to Mokosh Founder Marion O'Leary "The water part of the cream, comprising 50-85% in volume, evaporates quite quickly (within around 20 minutes), and does not play any part in hydrating or moisturising your skin." In contrast, Mokosh Skincare products are all water-free and need to be thought of as around 5 times more concentrated than a water-containing cream. This means you use a lot less. If you find the cream too greasy, simply apply to damp skin, or after applying our Pure Hydrosol Toner. The water on your skin takes the place of the water that is normally in the jar, and helps spread the cream or serum thinly and evenly over your skin.

Is Mokosh Light Face Cream or Rich Face Cream better for dry skin?

When your skin needs something richer, or when the atmosphere is harsh and drying, Light or Rich face cream are a great choice. Both provide abundant pro-vitamin A, vitamin E, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and a range of other phytonutrients to nourish the skin, slow down the aging process and support skin structure. They can be used on their own or layered over your favorite serum.

Rich Face cream is a little heavier and more protective and also contains anti-aging powerhouse ingredients - like avocado, rosehip oil, evening primrose, pomegranate, neem, hemp and prickly pear – that are extremely nourishing, protective and nurturing on dry and mature skin.

Is Light Face Cream a good face moisturizer for Combination Skin?

If you have combination skin you likely have an oily T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and normal to dry skin on the cheeks. Harsh weather and age can make your cheeks more prone to dryness.

When skin is oily, the Mokosh Elderberry & Chia Seed Beauty Serum is an excellent moisturizer to balance and nourish oily and combination skin. However, in dry environments, during winter and with increasing age, you may prefer a more protective moisturizer. When heavier protection is needed, Light Face Cream is a good choice for combination skin. Please note though that sometimes the different skin zones need to be treated separately, for example the T-zone may be treated with Elderberry & Chia Seed Beauty Serum while the drier skin of the cheeks would benefit from one of the Face Creams.
